A beautiful and free at point of entry pottery museum in Swadlincote centred around a capped kiln hovel, with exhibitions that explore the local pottery industry. Hosts free children's activities throughout the year. Lecture brunches and events for adults, plus tour and talks (both at the museum and will visit groups). A cornish ware coffee shop and unique gift shop with handcrafted items. We also house a Tourist Information Centre. Thank you for your support

This is a very informative and interesting site.I have just been reading about the Manor House. I wonder if the Cantrells who live in the village now are descendants of the ones listed as previous owners?

I was born and raised in Northumbria but my great-great-grandfather, I believe, hails from Derbyshire.

I've been living abroad for some time but now I'm back, I hope to be able to visit Hartshorne.

I visited Hartshorne briefly the other week, my family on the Henson side originated from Hartshorne. I am interested to know if any Hensons live there today?

Regarding a village fete, if the Rodney Meadows cricket ground is the proposed location then the cricket club should be contacted regarding the best day for this to happen as the season would have started by the proposed date and we have to ensure the ground is returned to a fit and proper state before the next match. The Club also has a fete style event planned for August 29th 2011.

I was very happy to find a place with the same name as my family.
I would be very interested to hear from any one with any information on Thomas Hartshorne born about 1800 in Stafford - he was married and had 4 children.
