My ancestors the Suttons lived in Hartshorne until the mid 1840's, working at the screw mill, and later moving to Birmingham, presumably when Nettlefold set up a screw factory there. Hartshorne is a lovely place: have visited it many times. Be interested to hear from anyone still living there who is a Sutton, or anyone related to Martha Sutton, whose grave is in the churchyard.

My ancestors lived in Hartshorne in the early 1800s before moving to Birmingham. I am interested in hearing from anyone connected with my family and/or the Stevenson descendants of Ann Bradley nee Stevenson 1789-1858.

I was born in Hartshorne and have found your web site very interesting.I particulary like the Primary School pictures (I was a pupil there from 1954 to 1960) but they would be more interesting if there were details of dates taken and some of the names of those pictured. Many thanks for keeping the web site going.

Firstly, my congratulations on the ongoing website which I have looked at from time to time over the years.

Secondly, I was wondering if anyone has any recollections of my grandparents Florence and John Hanson, who lived in the pre- and post-war years in a mid terrace house on Woodville Road.

My mother grew up there. Grandfather John (Jack) worked latterly in the pipe works and earlier (I think) in the mine.

Yours aye.
